SOL2023 BATON fever hits Temotu

The Sol2023 Pacific Games Baton Relay continue to take Temotu province by storm as hundreds continue to follow the Baton in its journey throughout the province.

Arriving in Lata on 2nd August, and received by the province’s Deputy Premier, Hon. Nickson Lanoli on behalf of the Provincial Government, the Baton has reached Vattu community, Graciosa Bay, Venga, Nemba, Manoputi, Noipe and Banir communities and villages.

The coverage of these communities wraps up the Baton’s journey throughout Temotu Nende Constituency.

“We have had huge followings behind the Baton everywhere we went. Men, women, children – everyone is embracing the Games, sharing the Games spirit through this Baton Relay.

“It is also amazing to see the level of preparedness, the excitement people have towards this event and towards this year’s Pacific Games,” Baton Relay team leader, Jacqueline Maeli said.

Meanwhile the Baton travels across to Temotu Pele Constituency today.
