Sol2023 Facebook campaign enters second week

The Sol2023 Pacific Games social media campaign on Facebook now enters its second week running.

The campaign involves the GOC (Games Organizing Committee) posting up news, promotions and adverts on its Sol2023 Facebook page and encouraging audiences to like, comment and share through their own accounts – with the first five to do so winning free Solo t-shirts.

It also involves quizzes posted online with the first five people to respond with the correct answers – also winning t-shirt giveaways.

“This initiative is part of the GOC’s Communication and Media strategy aimed at engaging and interacting with our social media audiences both in and outside of Solomon Islands.

“It is aimed at building a hype towards the Games 1-Year-To-Go event happening this weekend (19th November, 2022) and also other events that the GOC will be venturing into in the coming weeks and months ahead – leading up to next year’s Games,” GOC Communications Coordinator, Jeremy Inifiri said.

Six winners from within Honiara have so far been announced winning free Solo the Mascot give away t-shirts. They include; Stephanie Siapu (Bumburu), Belinda Misiosi (West Kola), Cliffton Koito (Green Valley), Mike Maoamaiasi (Kaibia), Glenzi (Kakabona) and Leilanie Kama (Panatina).

“For the past two weeks, the Sol2023 Facebook page has seen significant increases in likes, shares, comments and reach – not only domestically, but internationally as well.

“We see that this strategy and approach is indeed working for us – therefore we will continue engaging and interacting with our audiences – spreading the Games message to everyone,” Mr Inifiri said.
