Countdown to the 17th PG: Athletes and Stakeholders Eagerly Anticipate the Big Event Amidst Busy Preparations

As the countdown for the 17th Pacific Games is underway in the Solomon Islands and across the Pacific and other parts of the world.

Team officials and athletes are preparing for the Pacific Games, while stakeholders in Honiara are getting ready to play a crucial role in the 17th Pacific Games.

Over the weekend, Team PNG commissioned their Pacific Games athletes, while Team Fiji conducted medical checks for their athletes last week. AFP is also gearing up for the 2023 Pacific Games and will work closely with the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in this important role.

Duken Tutakitoa-Williams, Niue’s heavyweight boxer, will lead the country’s campaign at the 2023 Pacific Games in November in Honiara, Solomon Islands.

Team Vanuatu is eagerly counting down the days and getting ready to showcase their vibrant Vanuatuan spirit at the 17th Pacific Games.

Last week Defence Australia handed over specialist training equipment, including bomb suits and an armored excavator, to complement training delivered throughout 2023 to prepare the RSIPF for the Sol2023 XVII Pacific Games.

Honiara is getting ready to welcome 5,000 athletes and team officials for the 17th Pacific Games come November 19. The games will feature two weeks of competition across 24 sports.

The opening ceremony will take place at the national stadium east of Honiara city, with a seating capacity of 10,000 spectators. The event will run until the closing ceremony on December 2nd.
