Six Sol2023 Pacific Games teams table tennis matches that were scheduled for HCC Area were postponed on Wednesday due to a prolonged power outage experienced in Honiara.

Two women’s matches, New Caledonia v Fiji and Vanuatu v Tahiti, were in progress when the power outage began at around 11am.

The men’s semi-final matches that were scheduled – PNG v Tahiti and Fiji v New Caledonia – as well as the semi-finals of the Para team event – Tahiti v Tuvalu and PNG v Solomon Islands – were also delayed by the power outage.

The affected matches will resume at 8am on Thursday, with the gold and bronze medal matches to follow before the matches originally scheduled for Thursday begin.

Power was restored to affected areas of Honiara later in the day.
