Solo resume Honiara school visits this week

SOLO the mascot, and the GOC’s Community Engagement team will this week resume its school visits around Honiara.

Solo had the past week took a breather off school visit duties, due to the mid-semester school holidays.

GOC Media Officer, Ezmie Oge said that this week, Solo and the team is prepared to resume school visits in some schools the mascot has yet to visit.

“Since the school visits began two weeks ago, we have visited four schools – all of whom were ecstatic at the opportunity of meeting Solo.

“Many staff and students in these schools have demonstrated keen interests in becoming Games volunteers – as was the purpose of these visits.”

Solo and the team have since visited Burnscreek Adventist School, Betikama Adventist College, Panatina and Vura Community Schools.

Meanwhile the team is expected to visit another four schools this week.
